GROWING POINT

DISCIPLESHIP

A Disciple is defined as one who is a student, a learner, one to be taught by a leader. We can accept Christ and become a believer, but becoming a disciple requires action on our part. A disciple is not a passive observer, but one who desires to apply all that is taught from God’s word into their lives. If you have experienced the life changing power of God’s love and mercy you should have a great desire to share that experience with others. At The Point Church we offer “Growing Point” classes on Wednesday evenings at 6:30. This discipleship class is for those who have given their life to Christ and desire to go deeper with their walk on this journey. Topics that we cover during this class include:

  • WHAT IS DISCIPLESHIP?
  • HOW YOU CAN EXPERIENCE GOD’S LOVE AND FORGIVENESS
  • HOW TO BE SURE YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN
  • HOW YOU CAN PRAY WITH CONFIDENCE
  • HOW YOU CAN BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
  • HOW TO WALK WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
  • HOW TO HAVE A QUIET TIME
  • THE BIBLE: WHY IS IT UNIQUE
  • WHO IS JESUS
  • WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS OF DEEPER AND MEANINGFUL
  • RELATIONSHIPS
  • WITNESSING: HOW TO SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY
  • RECOGNIZING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFT AND HOW TO USE IT

We believe that each believer has received a spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit to be used to serve the body of Christ. (Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Peter 4:9-11) We offer a spiritual gift assessment during this class and discuss how your gift can be used to serve others.
